Trowbridge Garden Centre was established in 1980, at the instigation of two businessmen: Bill Mannings and Alan Clarkson, together with Fred Daws (former Bath Parks’ Director) and Terry Knowles (Bath Chartered Accountant).

The owner of the land (Dave Perkins) granted a lease to the new company, which started trading that year.  The company remains a family concern following the deaths of the original majority shareholders in 2019 and 2023; the ownership of the land remains in the hands of the Perkins family.

The present manager (& company director) is Chris Wilde, who is only the third manager since the company commenced trading.
